Lebanese Prime Minister Announced Resignation

Saad al Hariri, Prime Minister of Lebanon, resigned from his post. He resigned when he was in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh. This resignation came in the fear for his life; his father, former Prime Minister Rafik al Hariri, was assassinated in 2005.



Heena Sidhu wins 10-metre air pistol gold medal at Commowealth Shooting

Heena Sidhu won 10-metre air pistol gold medal at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships held in Brisbane. She shot combined score of 626.2 to claim top honours. It was her second successive international gold after she along with Jitu Rai, claimed the top position in the 10-metre air pistol mixed team event in ISSF World Cup Finals held in Delhi. Among other Indians, Deepak Kumar won bronze medal in 10-metre air rifle event. London Olympic bronze-medallist Gagan Narang finished fourth, while Ravikumar ended fifth.

England wins FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017

England won 17th edition of FIFA U-17 World Cup by defeating Spain by 5-2 goals in the final match held at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan/Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, West Bengal. England’s Phil Foden was adjudged tournament’s best player and was awarded ‘Golden Ball’. Besides, Rhian Brewster of England who scored most goals in tournament (8 goals) was awarded ‘Golden Shoe’. Brazil’s goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao was awarded ‘Golden Glove’. 17th edition of FIFA U-17 World Cup was held in India from 6th – 28th October 2017. The official Mascot for FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 was clouded leopard named ‘Kheleo’. FIFA U-17 WC is biennial international football tournament of men’s under-17 national teams organised by FIFA.

Pakistan to 2018 Asian Cricket Council Emerging Nations Cup

Pakistan will host the 2018 Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Nations Cup in April 2018. The decision was taken during the meeting of the ACC held in Lahore on October 2017. In it, six ACC teams including five full members will play in the tournament.


China Unveils Asia's Largest Island- building Vessel

The vessel (ship) is 140 metres long and has been dubbed as "magic island maker". It is capable of digging 6,000 cubic metres an hour, which is similar to three standard swimming pools. The vessel is expected to be delivered in June 2018 after being tested completely.


Haryana Signs Pacts Worth Over Rs. 2000 cr at World Food India

The Haryana Government has signed initial pacts worth Rs. 2,069 crore with 44 agriculture bases and food processing enterprises and establishments that will provide employment to 5,012 persons. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was present at the Haryana session on the second day of the three day World Food India event Organised in the National Capital of New Delhi; where these MoU were signed.
